I am incredibly honored to announce that my original watercolor painting, “Eyes of the Plateau” (《高原的眼睛》), has received an Honorable Mention Award at the 13th PORTRAIT International Juried Art Competition.
Hosted by the Los Angeles-based Teravarna Art Gallery, this international competition showcases a diverse and highly competitive collection of portrait art from talented creators worldwide. To have my realistic watercolor portraiture recognized by the jury with an Honorable Mention is a deeply rewarding milestone in my artistic journey.
About the Award-Winning Artwork: “Eyes of the Plateau” (2026, 41x31cm) is a close-up portrait exploring innocence, resilience, and cultural heritage. The painting captures the clear, expressive gaze of a young girl, adorned in a traditional headpiece made of vibrant, multi-colored beads. Through the delicate layering of watercolors, my focus was to render the authentic, natural rosy flush of her cheeks shaped by the plateau climate, bringing her quiet strength to life on paper.
The official exhibition is currently live online. I warmly invite you to view my painting and explore the magnificent portraits created by my fellow international artists.
