The Story: A Surreal Awakening

“Between Breath and Light” (《苏醒》) is a monumental and emotionally charged figurative watercolor. The painting depicts a mesmerizing, surreal scene of a woman emerging from the depths of the ocean, her face lifted toward a brilliant, golden sunset. The delicate interplay of the cosmic elements beneath the water and the warm, ethereal light above creates a profound narrative of rebirth, hope, and spiritual awakening.

Creating a watercolor of this massive scale (102 x 73 cm) requires absolute mastery of the medium. The artist seamlessly blends wet-on-wet techniques to render the fluid, dreamlike water, while utilizing precise dry-brush details to capture the serene expression and delicate skin tones of the figure. This masterpiece is an ultimate statement piece, commanding attention and inspiring deep contemplation in any grand living space, gallery, or luxury interior.
