I am incredibly honored to announce that not one, but TWO of my original watercolor paintings have been recognized in the Teravarna 13th Animal Art Online Competition!
Both my serene portrait of a stag, “Guardian of the Prairie”, and my dynamic depiction of marine power, “The Leap of a Humpback Whale”, have been awarded an Honorable Mention by the jury.
This international, juried competition is highly competitive, showcasing a wide array of talented artists. Receiving this recognition from Teravarna Art Gallery for two very different artistic explorations—one focused on quiet majesty and the other on dynamic force—is tremendously encouraging.
“Guardian of the Prairie” (2025, 73x54cm) is a large-scale watercolor portrait capturing a regal stag in a quiet, snowy winter environment. My goal was to convey the silent strength and resilience of this magnificent creature amidst the serenity of nature. I am pleased that its quiet narrative resonated with the international panel.
“The Leap of a Humpback Whale” (38x54cm) is a high-energy painting capturing the split-second of a massive humpback whale breaching the water surface, creating a dynamic explosion of water spray. Creating this dynamic composition in watercolor was a challenging and rewarding process.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the jury at Teravarna Art Gallery for this double honor. The online exhibition will be live soon on the Teravarna website, and I invite you all to explore the wonderful works of fellow artists selected for this show.
